25 / 11 / 2017 - New Uber boss "knew about hack for months" 

Within this article, it talks about the hack of Uber of how the passengers and the drivers of Uber's details were leaked for almost over 2 months. Dara Khosrowshahi is the new boss of the Uber company. He was told about the hack when he first became in charge in September and now has exposed the hack in order to let the general public know the problem.


  • Almost 57 million passengers and driver's details of Uber were leaked for almost over 2 months. 
  • The Softbank company were informed that the investment is close to £7.5 billion. 
  • Uber revealed that 50 million passnger's details were revealed and 7 million driver's details were also revealed for almost over 2 months. 
  • They secretly paid 100,000 to the hackers to delete the data and information that they had hacked. 
Essentially, due to the secret about the hacking, Uber could be fined. The NCSC UK gave advices to the uber users of what to do when using the Uber app.

16/09/2017 - Rise of the Electronic bike  Electronic Bikes  The electronic Bikes are rising globally in the sense that it could "help tackle congestion and make your daily commute cheaper and less stressful". An E-Bike is essentially a bicycle that consists of a battery and an electric motor which assists you when pedalling - up to 15.5 mph in the UK. Its still an exercise in terms of pedalling but it does provide that extra boost in speed. In my opinion, in terms of e-bikes being more globally known in the future, it would have a certain impact on the society in the sense that it wouldn't be as much exercise for the younger generation who need to stay fit and healthy. But for the elderly people, it is understandable because they do need that extra boost in pedalling because they are not fit and healthy like the younger generation.

29 / 10 / 17 - Hotel booking sites probed by consumer watchdog  In this article, it focuses on how the hotel booking sites such as Trivago and Booking.com are being probed by the UK's competition Watchdog due to the fact that they want to see if they are misleading their customers. They feel that rather helping consumers, the hotel booking sites are making it more difficult for them.  They are bound to investigate whether hotel booking sites are misleading consumers.
